Associate Professor Naraghi and Dr Dehghan are Specialist Podiatric Surgeons. Podiatric Surgery is a specialty of
podiatry devoted to the study, diagnosis and medical or surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower extremities. They are able to offer you surgical treatments for all foot disorders when conservative care has failed.
Foot surgery has markedly advanced over recent years. As long as modern proven techniques are utilized pain in most cases is completely controlled and positive long-term results are achieved.
We often perform foot surgeries on a day-case basis under local or general anaesthesia. This means you are able to go home the same day as your surgery. Use of local anaesthesia has a lower risk than the risk associated with general anaesthesia. The decision of local or general anaesthesia depends on the procedure and patient’s health. This will be discussed during pre-operative consultation.
You DO NOT need a referral from your GP or other health practioners to see us. Although we are more than happy to keep your GP informed of your treatment if you wish.
Private health insurance rebates for costs associated with Podiatric surgery are available. The exact amount will vary based on your level of cover and health fund.
We will provide you with an estimate of the surgery costs in advance. Please contact your insurance provider for exact coverage.
